2. Tools that make quizzes from videos
Explore Tools that make quizzes from videos As we discussed before, video is no doubt an excellent resource and motivator for our English classes and our students. Of course we need to make sure of the quality of the film/resource itself so we can promote in fact our students language skills and proficiency. The myriade of videos and video resources available nowadays makes its use almost mandatory, so why not make the experience more interactive and active? At this point of our course we will explore tools that make quizzes from video with the help of the tool`s AI features, automatically, (Kwizie) and by hand, using a not so automatic tool that some of you may already know (Edpuzzle) but still very effective, that has already got a Beta AI version.
Kwizie - Kwizie creates quizzes from any video automatically using AI. The free account allows the generation of three quizzes from YouTube or Vimeo videos (if we use and access the tools regularly, it will keep on crediting us with a free quiz on Monday each week, once we have zero quizzes left. Supporting 13 languages it includes the ability to select a wide spectrum of learning levels – from primary levels, high school, university, and up to professional contexts. This flexibility allows teachers to create quizzes that match the educational level of their learners, see students become motivated, engaged, and ultimately succeed, which is incredibly rewarding for educators. Kwizie's multilingual support not only broadens the accessibility of educational content but also empowers teachers to create more personalized and effective learning experiences. This can lead to more motivated learners eager to learn and succeed, which is the ultimate achievement for any teacher. It now has a more limited implementation period, only 5 days, but i tis still an excellent help for English language learning and teaching in our classes. You have already seen a Kwizie quiz during the session. Now its time to explore it some more. Here are some guides for you to use.

Edpuzzle is an online tool that allows teachers to pull in personal and web-based videos, such as YouTube, to be cropped and used with other content. This can mean adding in voiceovers, audio commentaries, extra resources, or even embedded assessment questions. Through this, we can transform videos into interactive tasks. It has an AI auto-creation functionality, which is still quite limited in terms of the videos it can work on, or we can create the questions by hand. The AI functionalities are Beta but are worth the try!
Edpuzzle is 100% free for teachers and students. With the free Basic Plan, we can store up to 20 videos in our account. It integrates with most of our online educational working platforms, such as Classroom and Teams.
It no doubt gives us the chance to take learning outside of the box and to make it a more fun and interactive experience for our students, thus promoting our students` language proficiency.
